Expanding Family Planning through Community Health Workers within the Christian Health Association of Kenya
This brief describes IRH’s World Bank-funded work with the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK) to expand family planning in Kenya. The project targeted the training of community health workers (CHW) in CHAK’s network to provide women of reproductive age with family planning methods. Results of the pilot project indicated CHWs in CHAK’s network were willing and capable to provide family planning in a manner aligned with international best practices.
