IRH Director Awarded Lifetime Contribution to Georgetown Medical Center Award

Dr. Victoria Jennings, director of the Institute for Reproductive Health, was recognized with the Lifetime Contribution to Georgetown University Medical Center Award at the center’s ninth annual convocation on Thursday, November 17.

The annual award recognizes an individual’s long-term impact on the medical center through research, education and service. Edward Healton, MD, MPH, Georgetown University’s Executive Vice President for Health Sciences and Executive Dean of the Medical School, presented Dr. Jennings with the award.

“Each and every award presented at Convocation is special, but recognizing a colleague for her lifetime contribution to our medical center is among the highest honors to deliver,” Dr. Healton said. “It was especially meaningful to recognize Victoria because of her sustained work with the goal of improving the health of adolescents, young women and men as part of her global health research and education mission.”

With more than 30 years of experience developing, implementing and advising programs related to family planning, reproductive health, capacity building and advocacy, Dr. Jennings has extensive experience around the globe. Serving on numerous technical and expert committees, Dr. Jennings also brings to the table a background in research, gender issues, training and behavior change communication.
