Research-to-Practice
Model
The Institute closely follows a research-to-practice
model as it pursues its objective of mainstreaming
Fertility Awareness-Based (FAB) methods. The model
in action consists of:
- Developing and testing
two new FAB methods – the Standard
Days Method® (SDM) and the more recent
TwoDay Method
(TDM);
- Addressing key service delivery
issues through introduction and Operations
Research (OR);
- Establishing
best practices for providing these methods
and developing guides and simple tools to help
organizations incorporate these methods into
programs and services;
- Disseminating results and findings to partner
and family planning programs;
- Additional research on
scaling-up efforts
and new service delivery strategies;
- Building partnerships
to create support, leverage resources and build
capacity to offer these methods.
