Most of the work that the Institute does
is carried out in collaboration with in-country
partners. As a small research organization
we have neither the resources nor the presence
in-country to conduct research or provide
services. Our collaboration with research
and service delivery organizations has included:
- Conducting pilot, efficacy
and long term follow-up studies of the
Standard Days Method (SDM) and TwoDay
Method (TDM);
- Using operations research
and case study methodologies to test alternative
strategies for introducing the SDM into
a wide variety of programs and services
in different settings;
- Providing assistance and
helping to build capacity in local organizations
to train and supervise providers in SDM
counseling and service provision;
- Testing the effectiveness
of behavior change and social marketing
efforts in increasing awareness of and
access to the SDM;
- Testing the effects of SDM
scaling-up interventions.

the Institute’s collaboration with
local groups to introduce, test, scale up
or assist in building local capacity for
increasing access to fertility awareness-based
methods of family planning.
